Seed dream: making space for yunity to flourish
What are your dreams! What would you add to make this dream your dream also? If we collectively realized this dream, what would enable you to say that you could not have spent your time better? Be totally uncompromising about your needs, goals and vision.
No one can deny, refute, or disagree with your dreams; there is no one who understands a person’s personal viewpoint better than the person who has shared it. Only they are expert in being themselves and in understanding their personal uniqueness. Do not fear contradictory visions.
So please take this opportunity to write down your dreams - there is no rush nor limit - and see our collective dream expose itself.[1]
- Douglas Webb: A building where I live with friends and do what I love. A space where the pain of leaving is made bearable only by the joy of returning. A place where I can fully realize my freedom... a home.
- Philip Engelbutzeder: A building where "unconditional sharing" is the key to rooms in which people can come together, be alive and create whatever they love. A microcosm and prototype of the world we envision – and a template so others can build their own WuppHouse to broaden a global community. A place off all in: inviting, encouraging and inspiring: everybody is liberated to weave their fullest potential into the trust of complementarity. A playground where unity is experienced in our diversity and our diversity is supported by our unity. No expectations. No regrets. No worries.
- Janina Abels: A building where I can be myself all the time, where I live together with people who are not only accepting but appreciating of me, my skills and my flaws. The spirit of unconditional sharing is what brings and keeps us together. Respect and love is what connects us and makes us family. Every room is accessible to everyone, although privacy is also possible in agreed-upon timeframes. There are spaces for people to live in full-time, but also for non-permanent residents and guests. There are communal meals and group activities but no obligations. We share almost everything, especially our food and items, our hearts, hopes and passions, and we work together daily on building a positive future not only for ourselves but for as many people as possible.
- Robert Werth: When it comes to housing, I'm more of a pragmatic person. I envision a building with a fully equiped kitchen (including dishwasher), enough bathrooms with running water and the possiblity to take a hot shower, electricity, internet and possibly a garden to grow food. And it should be sustainable with things like a compost, cistern, solar panels and the like. Or, to put it more dream-like: A building, where my physical needs and those of my companions are met so we can flourish and expand on our vision. A building that combines comfort and sustainability and sets an example for passersby. The more I think about it, the more I realize I'm dreaming of an earthship for (y)unity.
- Anja Konhäuser: A building we can call our home, created with love, creativity and passion. Where everyone can live to his/her full potential, enough space to realize dreams and visions. To inspire people and yourself. Living together without any unnecessary restrictions and borders. A garden would be amazing as well!
- Douglas Webb: Built using a legal framework which serves the social way we want to interact by researching others and giving our developments away as a gift.
- Hans-Christian Eick: When I was told to dream, with the only restriction being, that the dream is about the permanent WuppSpace, then I would be dropped into a hilly place, where the green gras is waving in the breeze and the trees are scattered around like distant relatives. And I would see a strong community happily gazing in amazement at the luck of this piece of nature just being bestowed upon us, by an elderly man, who had just realized, whilst he was coming near his last breaths, that there was not a brighter future, that he had worked for even being a highly decorated CEO. And the community so willing and excited to construct a place, a home, a future burns with this one vision spraying sparks of hope everywhere, so that seemingly out of the blue there are offers of support and a pull in positivity that everyone close enough will feel. So as we get close to Michael Reynolds, the EarthShip architect, he adds to our vision and consents to our shared values, wanting to build with us not just a home, but a center, where the core vision and values are emitted by the sheer presence of the EarthShip conglomerate and the growing society within. A small town is nearby adapting fastly to the changes they to want to see in their future and in synergy with the center of yunity, it grows quickly in happyness and sustainability. The center of yunity itself, too, grows its own food on wide acres of conceptualized polyculture and has a workshop to create and construct whatever needs or whims appear. There is a continual coming and going, of parts of the community setting out to spread the ideas and the love and of people becoming part of the community in search for support and meaning for their being.
