Deep syscon simple guide for participants

When you arrive at a deep syscon you should have done that either through a quick syscon or a quick and a basic syscon.
The deep syscon the most sophisticated approach using a syscon and can solve complex problems while minimizing resistance in a group.

The steps are similar to the ones of the basic syscon, but even more detailed.

What you need

Bring something to write with you (pen&paper or laptop depending on the situation)

Steps

Enlightening the problem

In this round you and everyone has the chance to describe the problem from their perspective.

Find the right question

If the topic is not completely clear yet that is done now to have a very specific question. The moderator might use quick syscon to solve the details.

Bring in relevant information

The Moderator will ask the group to present all relevant information that might define frameworks, for example the legal framework for possible solutions.

Express wishes towards a good solution

Here you and everyone else will be asked to express the quality you and they would like in the outcome. These wishes can contain very abstract emotions or values and can also be specific things you want to see in a solution. If you find that your wish is an actual proposal write it down immediately.

Making proposals

In a open space you now have the time to create proposals. The frame for that can vary a lot depending on the actual problem and how you decided as a group in a quick syscon.

Gather pros and cons

In this round the proposals are presented by the individuals or working groups.
When all proposals are gathered you can express pros and cons towards the proposals in a written way and also clear questions you might have.

Rate

Now you can rate the proposals with resistances ranging from 0 (no resistance) to 10 (highest resistance).

Question of continuation and reevaluate

If the group decided to reevaluate instead of going with another proposal you can now make short interviews with people who rated on your proposal(s) in order to find out what you can do better with your proposal to get less resistance.

From here the group restarts with making proposals and continues with the further steps until a best solution is found.

Finish the process

The moderator will close the round after a review of the participants.
