5. Collaborate with yunity
Our vision
A society based on self-determination, trust and cooperation which allows people to live to their full potential and to preserve ecosystems for all living beings. Â
Our mission
We encourage relationships where people can share their time, skills and resources, unconditionally. Through these connections and communities we prevent waste and raise awareness for a sustainable way of living.
Our primary objective
Â
Where we are now
- ~15 contributors who's primary occupation is the project.
- ~30 contributors who are regular, but have other primary commitments.
- Working intermittently at WuppDays: residential work sprints at venues that are lent to us for free.
- Specification for yunity 1.0 (MVP) in place. Refinement and clarification in process.
- Product development done using yunity Scrum - this is mostly just Scrum, but friendlier.
- A lot of code already in the yunity GitHub repository.
- Loads of auxiliary work done and in progress: researching similar organizations, researching legal registration, huge amounts of translation, Facebook community maintenance, foodsharing, repairing WuppDays venues, hosting open WuppDays, organizational structure improvements, selected logo and slogan, design mock-ups for the application...
What we can offer
- Practical advice in using /wiki/spaces/ST/pages/21299356 to make group decisions.
- Help for Project wheel during events such as meetings.
- Our experience and knowledge of forming a cohesive group over the last 6 months.
- Practical advice in setting up food saving in your area. (i.e. contacting and coordinating with local food retailers to collect and use food they would otherwise throw away).
What we desire
- A stable working environment;
- Secure for 6+ months (e.g. with residential permit, enshrined agreement with owner or organizational ownership, etc)
- Able to accommodate at least 20 people comfortably (e.g. one or two dorm-type rooms, three or four smaller rooms, decent kitchen, one or two working rooms, etc)
- Connected services: water, electricity, internet.Â
- A couple more passionate developers with some free time (JavaScript and Python experience useful, not required)
Someone with a passion for refining product specifications.
