Purpose

This section describes tasks and responsibilities of volunteers at Floating City FoodSharing point. (infrastructure of big sharing points differ). This should help us to empower reciprocity of ethical conduct at sharing points.

For current volunteers

• Check the schedule and whether you have new volunteers at the same time;

• Find new volunteer or call if not present;

• Introduce new volunteers to the FoodSharing point: Tell the Story and about this document;

• Make sure that FoodShare-Point is ready to be used (no garbage, litter or obstacles);

• Wear vest, bright hat or something (provided by Floating City);

• Don’t allow more that 10 people in the TRAILER!

• During the event capture the attention of 5-10 or more people, to tell the Story and introduce to FoodSharing point common sense;

• Keep an eye on whether guideline is being followed during the event: Take more of what we have more, take less of what we have less;

• Please do not end your shift without checking in on whether the next shift volunteers are present or coming.

Shifts till 13 o’clock

• Keep people out of the sharing point prior the event;

• First shift should help to make Volunteer Goodies Box (check the schedule for how many?);

• Carry food from a van to the sharing point and put tomatoes with tomatoes, apples with apples;

• After the event starts it is most essential to talk with people. Try to capture the attention of 5-10 or more people, to tell the Story and introduce to FoodSharing point common sense;

• Keep the Sharing Point clean and in order, since we are guests in the Floating City;

• Show people where to put organic waste (rotten food) and boxes;

• If flow of people is too little start posting pics with location on social media (event, our FB group, and other related FB groups...)

Shifts after 13 o’clock

• During the event it is most essential to talk with people. Try to capture the attention of 5-10 or more people, to tell the Story and introduce to FoodSharing point common sense;

• Keep sharing point clean and in order, since we are guests in Floating City;

• Manage food waste so that it doesn’t become an obstacle. Same is valid for boxes;

• Deliver boxes to the Recycling center. Importantly: if not sure ask workers what goes where;

• If flow of people is too little start posting pics with location on social media (event, our FB group, and other related FB groups...);

• Provide an update on the FB event on food availability;

• Leave the sharing point clean and ready to be used again;

• For the last volunteers. If there is still food left, sort it out, through out bad stuff, post pics on social media and let someone inside the Floating City know that you leave food in the trailer!

Dont’s

• Do not push or touch people, though hugs are mandatory!;

• We don’t police people around, instead we appeal to their human common sense.
