The decision-making work of Joachim ThomeBodhi Neiser and Douglas Webb and others was presented to the rest of the WuppDays #4 core team. Joachim gave an intro into decision making theory and Doug facilitated a Full Systemic Consensus round on the question 'Which film should we watch next?'. It is worth mentioning that this question would be unlikely to make it into a Full SysCon round normally, but it was decided to be better to use a trivial question that we would honour the decision for instead of asking a serious question where the decision could not be honoured. Below are the results from the cycle:

Needs, Wants & Desires


DW: I need to watch a film that is downloaded! No buffering. I want to watch a film that makes me laugh at least once. I value good cinema and wide group acceptance.

CC : Needs: need to finish the movie before 00:30 cqus eim leqving afterwards . Want: A comedy or documentary related to yunity values . Values: Community, sharing...

Nick Sellen:

  • need: either in English or with English subtitles

  • want: something not too depressing as I don’t think they are as good for group viewing

  • want: not on a slow online thing where it buffers every few seconds

Matthias Larisch:

  • Needs: fulfilling time to chill, recover and get some inspiration

  • Wants: have fun and like the movie.

  • Values: It’s a film. My values don’t apply :)

Martin Schott:

  • Need: understand the movie (English or German)

  • Want: have a good time - be inspired, thrilled or made laugh

  • Value: watch artistically sophisticated movie

  • needs: i want to think about the film

  • want: fun for everyone

  • please make me laugh, a bit of humour

  • please make me learn, a bit of about our body and emotions

Bodhi Neiser: I want a film with a sad ending and that everyone will enjoy watching.

Taïs

  • need- something at least a tiny bit surprising, not a hollywood cliché of the genra
  • want- where, so the sauna room.
  • values- original version !

Gaby

  • needs: english lang
  • wants: learn something
  • want: everyone enjoy

Anja

  • needs: is in its original language (preferable english)  
  • wants: is not just about cars or racing machines
  • values: i haven’t seen it (often)
