Needs, Wants and Values

Alex KAK: I need some more informations about the abilitys the wupphouse sould definitly have

KS: I would like open WuppDays, if they occur to be well organized and have a way to bring those who are interested into the teams in a good way. I would like to have a better process for introducing new team members before having another open WuppDays. I value having a well set up, open and engaging way to welcome new people.

DW: I need to remained focused on my other tasks. I want to inspire others with the yunity story! I value connection and joy.

PhillipPE: Keep it as a regular thing. Same values as the WuppDays = everybody is invited, nobody has to pay for anything

JT: focused, because we want to, fun

TR: need- stressfree event! want- an event where people feel welcomed and included as they walk in values- nobody should be expected to pay for anything or feel that they should

JA: I need for the OpenWuppDays to feel right, a space that’s free of entryfees, altough having the opportunity (not the nessecity) to buy drinks would be fine to me. I want the location to be big enough to hold at least 20-30 people. I’d like it to be cozy, but that’s not mandatory. I value people having time to talk to each other, as well as listening to prepared talks.

0 = Ad hoc.

  1. Phillip: Get a room for 40 people at the University. 4 hours. 17-20 uhr on Friday. Hold the presentation (1h), Get together in working groups (1h), Open Talk/ Meet and greet (1h). A little bit of food preparation, like snacks & water and tea.
  2. DW: If we can confirm a venue in the next 48 hours that can host 30 people minimum, we host the open WuppDays. The event would be primarily awareness raising, not contributor recruiting.
  3. KS: I propose that unless the process of planning and setting up the open WuppDays takes a total effort of less than 1 person-day, we should skip it this time. I think there are higher priority topics that we should focus on at the moment.
  4. JA: I propose that we won’t hold the event if we don’t find a location until the beginning of next week.
  5. JA: I propose that if some individuals REALLY want to pursue the idea of OpenWuppDays Nuremberg anyways, they should be free to do so.
  6. JA: I propose to be honest about our lack of distributable tasks at the moment and don’t forcefully try to integrate people right now if we are not able to make them feel needed (meaning IF the OWD will take place on really short notice and thus there may be a bit worse organization/schedule).
  7. Organize a Room at the university (Phillip and whoever supports), as soon as we have a room continue further planning. If no room securely available until end of monday abort open wuppdays for these wuppdays.
  8. Have an introduction round at the beginning with silly group games & such

FS = Further solutions.

Metadata

The whole process took roughly 24 minutes (11:30 - 11:54)

4 minutes and 15 seconds of this time were used to explain the process, thus net times for the process was just under 20 minutes.

We had some tiny hiccups on the runoff vote because two people read the voting matrix not as intended by the respective authors. This was found out and corrected. Additionally, there was some confusion as to whether the resistance scale was 0-2 or 0-10.

With near to 10 % resistance, the chosen proposal is considered to be a very good compromise (good with under 30 percent).
