Bodhis proposal on a policy for the use of money

what to we use money for?

Things that we use money for if there is no money-free alternative, or if the alternative is disproportionaly hard to organize:

  •  Miscelanious small things needed for wuppdays (e.g. toilet-paper, light-bulbs, lost keys, etc.)
  •  Food at wuppdays that is barely rescued (oil, spices, rice, pasta, etc.)
  •  Legal fees (e.g. registration)
  •  Additional Costs for a temporary or permanent WuppSpace (water, gas, electricity, insurance etc.)
  •  WuppSpace premises (i.e a permanent space for around 20-30 people with house expenses covered)
  •  Personal medical insurance

Things that will be decided on a case by case basis:

  •  Special needs of indivuals at WuppDays or in Wuppspace (Medical needs and special diet, non rescuable foods)
  •  Insurance for wuppdays or things damaged by participants
  •  yunity festivals (e.g. gatherings of non-profit sharing platforms and initiatives)
  •  Server (currently we have a green energy sponsored server)
  • Traveling costs for Land-based transportation for external for coaches

things we definitely don’t want to use funding for:

  •  Land-based transportation for yunity contributors (e.g. train, bus, carpool)
  •  Direct funding of individuals related to the work they do for yuinty (example: project coordinator)
  •  Private housing costs (i.e. not the WuppSpace)

What sources of funding do we use?

  • Non-profit organisations (e.g. foodsharing e.V.)
  • Private donations from yunity contributors/team (no crowdfunding)
  • Private donations from any person just by providing bank details in the "support" button.
  • Foundations/Charities which we feel good with (environmental, social, sharing etc. ones)
  • Companies (only aligned to our values)
  • Companies (all, as long as we don't promote "bad" companies through advertising, etc.)
  • Political Institutions (regional, national, EU)
  • Price Competitions (from any kind that we feel good with)
  • Crowdfunding campaign (adverted through facebook, footer, newsletter, yunity.org, etc)
  • Donation button in the footer of yunity.org

All of these are possible sources of funding, but have to be evaluated individually with the team before they are implemented.
