Meeting #5 2015-10-08

Present: Sara P, Doug W (minutes), Raphael F, Martin S, Matthias L, Manuele C

Apologies: none

[Meeting begins 14:45]

MC: Likes general design (Justinmind) direction, some small alterations. Likes having vertical category filter beside the map. Crowd-sourcing doesn’t need to be at the fore-front the entire time.

  • RF: still debate as to whether filter should be pinned to map, or integrated to the search

  • MC: Have default location (IP logged on set-up), but can change (e.g. you are travelling somewhere).

  • MC: immediate impression of web-app must be that it is sharing focussed. Less buttons, more clear. The direction we want to take: how easy can we make it?

  • SP: Pre-login screen: can see activities and groups/communities, but not the members

  • [Discussion about a banana…]

  • MC: Wall is just for social, not for active sharing. Wants a static list of ‘wanted’ and ‘offered’ for local area.

  • ML: So filtering the map, just filters the map?

  • MC: Yes: when you search using the bar, the map filter will disappear.

  • RF: Definitely nice to make things seem like there is activity (a la Facebook) - dynamic viewing.

  • SP: Usually in Facebook you miss a lot of activity.

  • MC: yunity must focus on sharing over social.

  • RF: So text/pictures are all posted to the wall, and activities posted to a different ‘wall’.

  • ML: So one just social, and one just functional.

  • MS: Likes the differentiation, but first thought would be that they were linked together. Perhaps design a logarithm that arranges things best.

  • MC: Suggest to keep both feeds in one…

  • [further discussion of walls and feeds]

ML: Dev update: Working on search model is being formalised, definition of what ‘groups’ and ‘communities’ are is needed,

  • MC: Are we going to use OpenStreetMap? I wonder if the colour is customisable.

  • ML: Yes and yes.

  • RF: Documentation is ongoing?

  • ML: Always

  • RF: Collaboration with Nick has led to a GitHub wiki page for defining what ‘groups’ and ‘communities’ are.

RF: Next Coco meeting will have seven members next time, according to structural revision.

RF: Mail to remote contributors to go out soon.

MS: Working together distributedly in future requires planning, will present to team with Doug in a few days

[Meeting ends: 15:16]
