To participate in a quick syscon is quite easy as long there is a proper moderator with you.
If there is no moderator with you and your team consider learning to moderate a syscons.
Let people speak and listen to the the moderator. Speak up if you have a question or a relevant information during the syscon . If the moderator interrupts you that might have a reason, dont take it personally or feel attacked. They will only do it when it seems fit.
Support your moderator by staying calm and relaxed.Be aware that you will always be asked about your resistance towards the different proposals in the rating phase, because of that there is no need to criticise made proposals in advantage.
A quick syscon goes faster if all the participants help by listening deeply and focusing on the topic.
When a question/topic is handled via a quick syscon the moderator will mention the first proposal that comes up and ask if there is any resistance in the group.
If you should have any problems with the presented proposal just lift your hand.
If Anyone in the group has expressed resistance towards the first proposal the moderator will gather incoming proposals from the group, one after the other. Please give the moderator time to clarify all the upcoming proposals.
You can always take back the proposal you made.
As soon as all proposals have been put on the list and all questions regarding these proposals are clarified you will be called to rate the proposals.
If "deepen the process" (one of the control solutions) is voted on the topic is prepared for a more sophisticated framework by the moderators. This will take time and will postpone the decision process on that topic.
This is done by expressing your resistance towards the mentioned proposal:
The proposal with the least resistance will be chosen as the proposal that the group can live with best.
It might happen that a participant sees that a question must be decided on by the group before the current topic can continue. They can voice that (and you can do that also) by lifting both hands with index fingers up.
The moderator will then resolve this issue in a prioritized quicksyscon, after which he/she will return to the first syscon.
Should the quick syscons never find to an end because there are more prioritized syscons coming up before anything is resolved, everyone in the group can call for a process break which, if accepted by the group, will lead to all existing syscon topics being resolved one after the other without the possibility to bring up further priority syscons.
